Global Forest Observations Initiative
The Global Forest Observation Initiative (GFOI) is a global partnership aimed at supporting REDD+ countries to develop and implement their forest monitoring and MRV systems. The Mullion Group’s Dr Robert Waterworth is an author of the Methods and Guidance Documentation (MGD) material and a member of the MGD advisory board.
The Mullion Group is a founding developer of the moja global project under the Linux Foundation. moja global offers professionally managed tools to support environmental monitoring systems. These tools will allow countries to cost-effectively monitor their emissions from the land sector and will bring together information that is critical to mitigating climate change and reaching vital land-use goals. The tools also enable countries to better manage their natural resources through informed, data-driven solutions for a variety of development goals including food security, water management, and biodiversity protection in a changing climate.
