FLINT demonstration in Tanzania

With support from the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the Mullion Group worked with the Tanzanian National Carbon Monitoring Center to demonstrate the FLINT software. Through this project we provided a proof of concept for FLINT at the national level in Tanzania. This helped to assess the FLINTs continued development and potential application in Tanzania and other developing countries. A key outcome was to demonstrate how the FLINT can improve the systematic integration of multiple datasets and support the generation of more detailed GHG and related information. Such information should empower countries to make more informed decisions on the management of their landscapes and the development of efficient and effective interventions to reduce net GHG emissions. In meeting this aim, a workshop was held with key organisations to introduce the concepts behind integration tools and the FLINT.
