The Mullion Group has had a busy few months travelling the world on some exciting projects.

The Mullion Group recently sent a team to Fiji to run a workshop in Suva.  With support from the Australian Centre of International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), the Mullion Group ran a joint workshop with the Coalition of Rainforest Nations (CfRN) for representatives from the Fijian Government.

Participants enjoyed presentations and activities on national Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) and Greenhouse Gas Inventory Systems for the Fijian AFOLU sector. We showcased advances in spatial data integration tools, such as the FLINT, for estimating emissions and removals from the land sector. It was a great week of brainstorming and collaborative work, and highlighted the challenges and opportunities of MRV systems. Well done to the team, Geoff Roberts, Robert de Ligt and Sarah Buchan.

The Mullion Groups’ Robert Waterworth and Robert de Ligt also spent a week in Rome at the IPCC Lead Authors meeting. It was a productive week with working groups collaborating on the refinement of the IPCC guidelines of the AFOLU sector. Our team enjoyed the time with colleagues from around the world including Werner Kurtz (pictured below) from the Canadian Forest Service Carbon Accounting team.

Reports have come back that the commute through Rome was a tough stroll past ancient buildings and monuments, most importantly, the coffee was excellent. Great work team!
